Hello Fargo! My name is Chris Schlepp and I am your new Operations Manager for the Downtown Business Improvement District. I was born in Aberdeen, SD but have called Fargo my home since 2006 residing in the Clara Barton District. I have been married to my beautiful wife Michelle for 21 years and we have a 9 year old daughter Kristin. I am retired from the Active Duty Military serving in both the Marine Corps and Army National Guard for the past 21 years. I have two degrees from the University of Mary; a BS in Management and a MS in Strategic Leadership.
As your BID Operations Manager I am excited for the opportunity in improving our downtown Fargo area. My ambassadors and I will provide a variety of services that will directly impact downtown. Three specific areas we will provide service for are maintenance, safety, and hospitality. The maintenance piece includes weed pulling, trash pick-up, graffiti removal, and overall downtown beautification. The safety piece of includes engaging panhandlers and reminding them of city ordinances, working hand in hand with local law enforcement by providing another set of eyes on the streets and calling for assistance when necessary, and providing safety escorts for the general public. The hospitality piece includes engaging the downtown public and business owners with a friendly smile. Your hospitality ambassadors are there to learn as much information about downtown as possible. This information will then be used to offer assistance to customers who are visiting downtown whether it be providing recommendations on where to eat, events going on in the downtown area, or simply to answer general questions about downtown. My ambassadors and I are extremely excited to offer these services for the Fargo downtown area and we look forward to seeing you real soon!
