The 39th Annual Downtown Fargo Street Fair kicks off Thursday, July 17! Vendors from across the country have travelled to Fargo to set up shop for this favorite summer event. The Downtown Fargo Street Fair is North Dakota’s largest free outdoor event. This three day event features original works by regional and national artists and crafters. The Downtown Fargo Street Fair is a juried show and the artists and crafters are chosen based on the quality and uniqueness of their products.

Thursday, July 17 – 10am-9pm
Friday, July 18 – 10am-9pm
Saturday, July 19 – 10am-5pm

2014 Xcel Energy Art Contest Winner

If you’ve seen the official event posters and maps, you’ve likely noticed the Xcel Energy Art Contest winner Caecie Deblaere’s wonderful artwork, “LIGHTS”. Each year, Xcel Energy, sponsors an art contest that engages and challenges artists of all ages. This year’s art was part of the Xcel Energy Children’s Art Contest that was open to children in grades 6-8. Over 30 entries were submitted from area schools. “All of the submissions much inspirational talent in this community” said Mike Hahn, President/CEO of the Downtown Community Partnership. Mark Nisbet, North Dakota Principal Manager of Xcel Energy, stated, “The quality of the artwork submitted was truly remarkable. It was evident the students put ALOT of work into their submissions. We’re pleased to have so many local students involved in the excitement of Downtown and the Annual Downtown Fargo Street Fair.” were outstanding! It was very difficult for the jurors to decide with so



See and interact with BLOCH, a global art project traveling to every continent on Earth. The project connects artists and folk traditions to facilitate a worldwide conversation through a large tree trunk from Switzerland called BLOCH originating from an ancient carnival tradition. You can expect just about everything when it comes to food items at the Downtown Fargo Street Fair! From food staples like cheese curds, corn dogs, fry bread tacos to mini donuts, gyros, milk shakes and new items including frog legs, frozen yogurt and more! This year marks the most diverse food options yet. There are healthier options as well like the healthy soba noodles that are wok fried and vegetarian sandwiches. More food you can expect are southern fried catfish, taco in a bag, gourmet hot dogs, bacon wrapped corn dogs, calamari, walleye, burgers, steak sandwiches, red velvet funnel cakes, fresh cut fries, pizza by the slice, crab fritters, kettle corn, coconut shrimp and so much more! Choppin’ Around with the Forum Communications Company on Thursday, July 17!
Pork chops grilled by the Underwood Lions and served by Forum Communications. $6 includes a pork chop, bread, cookie and beverage.

There will always be something fun happening on the PEPSI STAGE at 2nd Avenue North and Broadway during the Downtown Fargo Street Fair. Acts include:
Gooseberry Park Players presents “The Sound of Music” at noon – Thursday, July 17.
Spotlight on Youth presents “Tarzan” at 5:30pm on Thursday & Friday and 11am on Saturday.
Experience Blur presents ‘The Great Gatsby: A New Theatrical Experience” 12:45pm on Thursday and 12:30pm on Friday & Saturday.
